Dance Classes

Information you might need to know before looking:

Intro to Dance

(Ages 3 to 4 and 4 to 5)

A Creative Movement class for our pre-school dancers (age 3-5). This class focuses on dance stretches, basic ballet, and jazz moves. It is designed with little dancers in mind! The students will explore dance through games with musical rhythm, fun colorful props, and their imagination. We work on developing motor skills by balancing, jumping like bunnies, princess turns, skipping through pretend magical forests, and leaping like deer! Along with exploring dance, we will also focus on beginning to learn dance class etiquette such as following directions, taking turns, and listening helping them prepare for school and future dance classes.    

These classes are 30 minute held once a week.

Combo Classes

(Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd graders)  

Ballet and Tap Combo is a once a week  45 minute class that combines ballet and tap together for this lively group of young students. Students learn ballet and tap moves, terminology, and dance class etiquette in a positive environment. Several times a month jazz technique will be introduced to keep up with all the wiggles.  We encourage creativity and a love of dance! Class is structured to advance learning of key dance skills, yet still dynamic to keep young dancers active. Teachers use engaging music, fun props, and dance games. Come join the fun! Let's dance!  
These classes are 45 minute classes once a week.   
For Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd graders

Ballet, Pre-Pointe, & Pointe

(Grades 3rd thru High School)

Ballet is the foundation of all other dance styles. This class is designed to build a strong foundation for dance whether students are looking for fun or have a professional focus. Ballet is a graceful dance style that encompasses proper body alignment, classical technique, and fluid movement. Barre, center floor, and across the floor combinations are all used to develop proper Ballet technique. Dancers are placed in classes first based on age and then progress levels based on advancing ability. Dancers often repeat ballet levels due to the challenging technique.    
These classes run 45 minutes once a week.  

Ballet Level One/Two: 8-14 yrs of age. 
Ballet Level Three: Pointe Class  12 & up  ( teachers recommendation only)

Tap

(Grades 3rd thru High School)

​Tap dance is a form of dance characterized by using the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. Two major variations on tap dance exist: rhythm (jazz) tap and Broadway tap. Broadway tap focuses on dance; it is widely performed in musical theater. Rhythm tap focuses on musicality, and practitioners consider themselves to be a part of the Jazz tradition. Dancers will be placed according to ability and lots of homework is encouraged with this style of dance. Tap dance can be one of  the most difficult styles of dance  to learn but once it is. It is one of the most rewarding!
​These classes run 30 minutes once a week. 

​Tap Level One/Two: 2nd-5th grade classes, 6th-8th grade classes and 9th-12th grade classes
Tap Level Three: Middle-High School

Jazz

(Grades  2nd thru High School)

Jazz dance has high energy moves, strong technique, and attitude with popular up-beat music. This class will get your heart pumping! Class starts with a warm-up, learning technique such as kicks, turns, and leaps, then across the floor combinations, and group choreography. Hearing the beats to the music and counts become important as dancers isolate different parts of their body building strength, poise, and flexibility. Personalities shine with this creative and energetic dance style! (age 3rd grade and up) Dancers are placed in classes first based on age and then progress levels based on advancing ability. 
​These classes run 30 minutes once a week.  

Jazz Level One/Two: 2nd-5th grade classes, 6th-8th grade classes and 9th-12th grade classes
Jazz Level Three: High School level.

Lyrical/Acro

(Grades 4th to High School)

Lyrical is a mixture of different dance styles with acrobatic movements. Students will be required to take Acrobatics to promote flexibility. Lyrical is a style of dance with fluidity and interweave with the lyrics of the song telling a story through dance and emotional expression. Dancers learn coordination, musicality, flexibility and self-confidence, all awhile expressing their selves while dancing. It’s beautiful, unique, and breathtaking. This is an advanced dance form, so dancers will benefit from a foundation of ballet and or jazz.  
These classes will run 45 minute classes once a week. 

Age requirement for this class is student must of had a year or more of ballet and be ​10 yrs of age or older.

Hip Hop

(Grades   4th to High School)

Fun, Exciting, Challenging. What's not to love about Hip Hop? If you enjoy breaking out of your shell and adding a little bit of popping and Locking with cool up to date music. Then this class is for you. Hip hop is a lifestyle that includes its own language, music, wardrobe style and style of dance.
These classes are 30 minute classes once a week.

Acrobatics being offered in our Summer Program only. 

(Kindergarten to High School)

Like doing tricks? Then this is the class for you! Acrobatics is performing, involving, or adept at spectacular gymnastic feats. You will get to learn how to make shapes with your body and doing some amazing tricks and stunts. Acrobatics will help advance you as a dancer and flexibility.

Competition Team 

Studio B Competitive Dance Team. We are so excited to add this to our program. These classes are merited on a try-out basis or being asked to join by one of our Staff members of Studio B. Students must participate in at least one other Recreational Class preferably but not mandatory would be a Ballet Class.  Student must have at least 3 hours a week of Studio Time. Competition Classes will be longer and more intense on the dancers. However the end result is an undeniable change of more controlled and skilled and polished dancer.
